Our final section
on single track surfaced roads passes through Scotland's
most spectacular mountains. This is road cycling at its
best, through national nature reserves and winding past
the numerous small lochans and unusual shaped mountains
formed during the ice age. We pass through small crofting
communities, following the coastal road which offers magnificent
seascapes.
A short ferry
over the Kyle of Durness, with its beautiful golden beaches,
and the ride over the moorland road to the lighthouse at
Cape Wrath provides a fitting finale to our tour.
A route not
to be missed by the geologist and ornithologist.
