We
visit Rob Roy Country as well as taking in several other famous Scottish
landmarks; including the majestic mountains of Skye.
The
tour starts in the historic city of Stirling with a visit to the Stirling Castle
and Wallace Monument. Cycling and walking we head north through Rob
Roy Country, Glencoe, and Fort William.
Our
journey continues up the Great Glen past Ben Nevis (Great Britain's highest
peak) and Lochness. We then continue westward to the Isle of Skye visiting
the famous Eilean Donan Castle enroute.
We
take a boat trip into the heart of the Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of
Skye and walk through the famous glens of this magnificent island.
There
will be an opportunity to enjoy the wildlife, eagles, seals, otters, and various
small birds.
Our drive back to Stirling takes us through
Inverness to visit the famous Culloden Battlesite which ended the
Jacobite rebellion and Bonnie Prince Charlie's claim to the throne. We then continue
south through Aviemore on Speyside; Whisky Country with 58 distilleries.
There are 2 days cycling ranging from 15-20 miles per day on undulating well
sufaced quiet Highland roads and purpose built cycle paths.
There
are 2 days walking ranging from 5-8 miles per day; 1 glen walk and 1 hill walk.
